Introduction to the Module
ARC62404 Design Communication, is one of the core modules for this programme. The purpose of this module is to help introduce fundamental skills for the appropriate communication of architectural design. This module also allows students differentiate means of visualization and expression of space, as well as spatial ideas through architectural drawings to help prepare students with the skills required in design projects. These skills are taught through a series of freehand and constructed drawing held both outdoors and in the studio.
Each assignment assigned in this module have their own learning outcomes. For assignment 1, the learning outcome is to allow students to Illustrate architectural forms and space through visualization and expression of space in the form of free-hand drawing. For the second assignment, the learning outcome allows students to interpret visual information into 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional orthographic drawings. For the final assignment, the learning outcome allows students to produce visual compositions, presentation drawings and model for architectural design project.
